The Nautilus – Miami Beach

I recently stayed at the Nautilus, a SIXTY Hotel, in the heart of South Beach, FL. This place is a breath of fresh air among the craziness that is central South Beach. It is small in comparison to the other hotels on Collins Ave. with only 250 rooms, yet still offered all the amenities you could want in an oceanfront property.
The customer service greatly surpassed my expectations. The check in/check out process was quick and easy. When calling the front desk for any type of assistance, they graciously and quickly handled it. They literally walked my friend through on the phone on how to work the Bluetooth speaker! Also, what was majorly awesome was that the valet service was actually quick! This is also the first hotel in a tourist-heavy area that I’ve stayed at that I actually remembered the staff members’ names. They really let themselves be known and that they were here for us. Shout out to Fabio and William Walker (yes he stated his full name).
The room itself was small, but not too small where you can’t move around. It was the perfect size for us girls. I loved the rainforest shower head in the bathroom. I also loved that housekeeping didn’t bug us when we slept until noon. I think they cleaned it everyday around 3 or 4, so that it was all ready for us when we got back to the room to get ready for dinner.

The pool area was beautiful and had a fun but soothing atmosphere. The daily resort fee included beach chairs and towels. The pool was on the small side but wasn’t too crowded since the hotel itself isn’t that big. The water could have been a little colder considering it was 100 degrees, but still refreshing! I loved the little areas of the pool area that you could explore. There were big wicker pods that you could chill in as well as a long pathway covered by thin trees. This kind of shade was much needed.

I especially enjoyed the beach area. Beach chairs were free but the umbrella was $19 extra, which I gladly paid considering how hot it was. I loved how the chairs weren’t so close together to other groups. We actually had room to breathe and take in the ocean air.

Do It For The Gram – Wynwood Edition

Just came back from a mini vacation in Miami to meet my LA friend, Eunice! After picking her up from the airport, our first stop was the Wynwood Walls. We literally just drove around looking for awesome murals. Every time we spotted a cool one, we stopped, got out to take a pic, and then on to the next! As they say, do it for the gram.

It was actually pretty easy to do, hardly any traffic and plenty of parking. Most likely because of the Zika virus cases in the area. We definitely didn’t stay long! As for the remainder of our stay in Miami, we used bug spray as a precaution.
