Yesterday I went to Disneyland and California Adventure in Anaheim with one of my close friends Esme! I wanted to leave California with a bang, and what better way than to go to The Happiest Place on Earth! I was a Disney kid so it was so nice to walk down memory lane and relive my childhood! I seriously went on like 15+ rides, even when my motion sickness started to sit in, but it was worth it. Can I just sing A Whole New World again and again?
Thankfully my friend knew all of the rides (she’s a local!) and knew where to go first, which rides were the most fun, and which food places were the most bang for your buck! What made it better was that we picked the best day to go. Labor Day had just passed, which means people are back at work and kids are back in school. There weren’t too many crowds! Plus on Fridays, the park is open until around 10:30pm or so, so you have a little over 12 hours of nonstop funnnn.
*Tips on visiting*
Get your Minnie Mouse ears ASAP! They’re so cute and fun, I had a great experience!
Wear your comfiest shoes possible. I wore my Adidas sneakers and I still got a couple blisters from walking for 12+ hours. Also bring a backpack with water, a sweatshirt, snacks, suntan lotion, etc.
Get fast passes for the big rides with the known longest lines. These are free, people!
Take breaks. Even if it’s just a pit stop in a nice gift shop, it’s like a vacation from the park. Sometimes you just need to get away from the noise and check out the novelties.
Rides I went on and shows I saw, I recommend ALL:
Indiana Jones Adventure
Pirates of the Caribbean
Royal Theatre- they do movie re-enactments with Princesses! They did Tangled, so cute!
Show White’s Scary Adventures
Sleeping Beauty Castle Walkthrough
Peter Pan’s Flight
Mad Tea Party – The Tea Cups!- a must! Go on the red ones, they’re the fastest!
Storybook Land Canal Boats – so cute for little kids, relaxing little cruise around miniature lands from the movies
Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters
Mad T Party – it’s a concert/rave like environment, but without the danger! haha
Tower of Terror – the scarrrriest ride ever, but fun!
Aladdin- The Musical – what a surprise, this was in a huge theater and looked like a professional Broadway show. You gotta go! The Genie stole the show!
Radiator Springs Racers – sooo beautiful right after sunset, early evening. The set design was amazing and did not look fake! Very fun ride too!
Silly Symphony Swings
Toy Story Midway Mania
Little Mermaid- Ariel’s Undersea Adventure
Soarin Over California
Pixar Play Parade
World of Color – A MUST-SEE, I CAN’T EVEN TELL YOU. Get fast passes so you get a good place to stand. I almost cried, looking at my favorite Disney movies within the water show, and singing along!
My body is pretty much shot today. Cannot move. I need to be in better shape for when I visit DisneyWorld after I move to Tampa!
